With the tyre warmers on, all what was left was to wait for the race to start at 5pm. Unfortunately with just five minutes before the start of our race we were approached by the ACU race office and told that out rider Paul Owen would be unable to take part in our race, as he had witness a major incident and had stopped to assist the marshals signal the other riders. Paul later received the Spirit of the TT award for his actions. Brunel X-team has full respect for the professionalism with which rider Paul Owen took responsibility as an eye witness to assist with a race incident and help the further safe passage of other riders on track.
