welcome to brunel x-team

Brunel X-team is a zero-emission superbike racing team that has been formed within the School of Engineering and Design at Brunel University. Brunel X comprises four members of staff drawn from Mechanical Engineering and Electronic and Computer Engineering, together with four final year Mechanical and Motorsport Engineering students. Brunel X has designed and built an electrically powered motorcycle and entered the inaugural Isle of Man TTXGP (Time Trials Xtreme Grand Prix) competition taking place on 12th June 2009.

This was the world’s first clean emission carbon free Grand Prix and Brunel University has seized the opportunity to be one of the leading universities taking part in this global event. Keen to gain vital experience upon which to launch yet another major competitive project within the School, the University is enthusiastic in supporting the Brunel X-team. Due to the nature of the competition and the current climate issues regarding carbon emissions, Brunel X and the University are very excited by the future challenges facing us.

The design and development of an electric bike is a demanding endeavour, and the Brunel X-team are enthusiastic to have made a successful impact at the first ever TTXGP. The team is now confidently looking forward to achieving even better results at the 2010 TTXGP edition.
